Laurel, Maryland - December 31, 2018: Audience members listen to the NASA’s Study of Ancient Bodies panel during the Ultima Thule Flyby Event New Years Eve 2018 at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Md. Less than half-an-hour into 2019 (Eastern Time), The NASA spacecraft New Horizons will encounter Kuiper Belt object 2014 MU69 – nicknamed “Ultima Thule” – orbiting one billion miles beyond Pluto. Those attending the event will ring in 2019, then celebrate Space Science History.
