Capitol Heights, Maryland - March 29, 2017: An enlarged check for $50,000 signed by Kevin Durant sits behind trophies in Seat Pleasant Activity Center's Kevin Durant Den. NBA super star Kevin Durant has donated a substantial amount of money to help renovate the Seat Pleasant Activity Center where he learned to play basketball. Durant's AAU coach and mentor Charles "Chuckie" Craig, who worked at the Activity Center, was gunned down in May 2005 at the age of 35. Durant wears #35 in Craig's honor.


NBA Superstar Kevin Durant's jersey number "35" is a tribute to his rec. league coach and mentor Charles "Chuckie" Craig, who was gunned down in at a night club in Laurel, Md., in 2005 when he was 35 years old.
