Washington, D.C. - March 07, 2016: Commuters A. Mitchell Koppelman, left, and Gero Verheyen, 50, seen at the intersection of 7th St. NW & F St. NW in Washington DC, are using the district’s Capital Bikeshare bicycles to bike to work Monday morning March 7, 2016.
Data from the Federal Highway Administration and the University of Michigan’s Transportation Research Institute show that the rate of licenses for 60-64 year olds fell from 95.9 percent in 2008, to 92.1percent in 2014. The decrease in drivers point to people's desire to save money and use public transportation, like Public bikeshare programs.
