Baltimore, Maryland - January 25, 2017: Garrin Davis, father of current IBF junior lightweight champion Gervonta Davis at the Upton Boxing Club in West Baltimore Wednesday January 25, 2017.

Several stints in prison for drugs kept Garrin and and Gervonta's mother in and out of rising boxing star's life throughout much of his childhood. The Upton Boxing Club gave Gervonta Davis the stability and discipline to he needed to stay off the streets and out of gang life.
