Baltimore, Maryland - March 07, 2014: Rowhomes slated to be razed sit across the street from the new Henderson-Hopkins community school. Blocks of rowhomes are being torn down to make way as part of the controversial East Baltimore Development Area project. Parts of the Johns Hopkins East Baltimore campus loom large over the neighborhood.
Henderson-Hopkins is a K-8 community school in East Baltimore. The school's library, gymnasium, auditorium, Early Childhood Center, and family resource center are open to the surrounding community. The school is funded through a partnership with Baltimore City, Johns Hopkins and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation.
