Versailles, - November 16, 2018: During a coffee break, attendees of the 26th CGPM meeting in Versailles, France take photos of two new symbols of measurement, a silicon crystal sphere — related to the Avogadro Constant which measures the mole and a prototype of the next generation of smaller Kibble Balances, which help define what a kilogram weighs, using the Planck Constant.
Representatives from 57 countries voted unanimously to redefine four basic units of measurement -- the kilogram, the mole, the kelvin, and ampere -- during at the General Conference on Weights and Measures in Versailles, France November 16, 2018.
