(staff photo by Matt Roth)..Edith Schultz, from Halethorpe, spent most of her adult life celebrating Veterans Day with her husband Dick Schultz. It doubles as their anniversary. Dick, a World War II veteran, passed away two years ago, on 9/11, of all days. Veterans Day, 2009, Edith sits with her cup of coffee and a few lottery tickets at Paul's Diner in downtown Arbutus. Afterwards she drives to Loudon Park Cemetary and erects two small American flags, one in front of her late husband's grave and one in front of her father's grave. .Like many elderly in the southern Baltimore County area, Edith is planning to sell her home, and auction most of her belongings, including many of her husband's paintings. She needs the money so she can move into Charlestown, the mega-retirement community in Catonsville. Many of her friends already live there.
