Washington, D.C. - March 29, 2017: Claudette Craig, Charles "Chuckie" Craig's mother, is photographed in her Washington DC home Wednesday March 29, 2017. She's lost two of her five children to gun violence. Charles "Chuckie" Craig, Kevin Durant's coach and mentor, was gunned down April 30th, 2005 in Laurel, Md., at the age of 35. Durant wears #35 as tribute to Craig.

Her eldest, Ryan, a marine, was killed during a family visit to Georgia by a rival of his cousin when he was 20-years-old.

NBA Superstar Kevin Durant's jersey number "35" is a tribute to his rec. league coach and mentor Charles "Chuckie" Craig, who was gunned down in at a night club in Laurel, Md., in 2005 when he was 35 years old.
