Photo by Matt Roth..Paul Moscatt, an 80-year-old retired painting professor emeritus from the Maryland Institute College of Art sits for a portrait in his home in Baltimore, Maryland on Monday, December 03, 2012. He lives on a fixed income and says that "I would probably get more advantage if everybody got their taxes raised. Medicare and Social Security are both what I function on. I happen to be part of the VA. So, that means that my Medicare goes back to the VA and the VA Hospitals and so on. ?We as a people are very under taxed. If you go to Europe where they have free health care, they have to pay for that, but then they don't go through life worrying about a sickness that can wipe them out." Paul Moscatt also believes "the government should support the arts. This is one of the few governments that have essentially rejected visual artists -- painters especially. ?They've stopped the National Endowment for individual artists. That is Absurd. I could move to Canada and fair much [better].
