The blizzard of 2003 dropped a record three feet of snowfall atop the 1884 Baldwin Roundhouse, partially collapsing the roof and damaging some of the most historically important railroad locomotives and artifacts in the Western Hemisphere. The 22-sided polygon is the largest circular industrial building in the world, and restoration crews have rebuilt its lower roof, clerestory roof and lantern preserving the original design. In addition, the ceiling planks will stay unpainted like they were originally.
