The Elkton Eclipse hosted the New York Mutuals Sunday July 9th, 2006 for a game of vintage base ball on the Eclipse's home turf at the Historic Elk Landing grounds...No gloves. A fly ball can bounce once and still be called an out, and trees regularly appeared on the playing fields. This was how baseball was played in the 1860's and a few fanatics across the nation rekindled the spark that started the national pastime. Vintage base ball -- spelled with two words -- is making headway in Maryland with four established clubs who regularly compete with other clubs across the nation.
