Similar to how the US's currency was based on the Gold Standard, Molossia's Valora is based on the Pillsbury Cookie Dough Standard. Three Valora have equal value to one tube of Cookie Dough.
The current exchange rate of 1 Valora to 1 U.S. Dollar is $0.75.
One Valora is equal to 100 Futtrus.
Valora means "value" or "valuable" in Esperanto, the second official language of Molossia.
Side note, probably the low point of my tour was when President Baugh forbade me to photograph where the money's printed. (he was nice about it). I wish it was because I don't have the proper security clearance, or something cool like that, but it's because the printer is in his and the first lady's bathroom, and it was too "dusty." …sigh. But I totally understand not wanting a photographer to make pictures in your bathroom, too.
