Washington, D.C. - March 06, 2016: A row of Capital Bikeshare bicycles lined up at a station in Washington, D.C. - March 06, 2016.

Data from the Federal Highway Administration and the University of Michigan’s Transportation Research Institute show that the rate of licenses for 60-64 year olds fell from 95.9 percent in 2008, to 92.1percent in 2014. The decrease in drivers point to people's desire to save money and use public transportation, like Public bikeshare programs.
