Maureen Murphy from Alexandria, Va., is a freelance producer, and a stroke survivor. Her strokes were caused by a blood clotting and auto-immune disorder Antiphosphiolipid syndrome with anticardio lipid antibodies, a pre-existing condition which can be deadly if untreated. Before the Affordable Care Act, she struggled to afford proper treatment.
