Fort Meade, Maryland - July 29, 2014:
The National Cryptologic Museum, located on the NSA campus at Fort Meade in Maryland, offers guest the ability to operate two working Enigma cipher machines used by Nazis. The Enigmas machines, while portable and, for the period, efficient, their codes were easy to break by the Allied Forces. Broken Nazi Enigma messages are credited with shortening the war.
