In a few minutes Laraisse will lead the couple’s daughters Catherine and Isabella Luhn, 10 and 8, on “The Scandal Scavenger Hunt,” in the hotel’s famous Scandal Suite, where burglars hired by former president Nixon spied on the Democratic National Convention’s offices. The idea is to let the children play detective while their parents enjoy a few minutes of adult time at the hotel’s Kingbird restaurant. For desert, the whole family gets free ice cream sundaes, reputed to have been the former president’s favorite dessert.
