• Mountlake Terrace, Washington - July 13, 2015: Citizens of Überstadt (L-R) Baroness Rosewood, Kara Oberstadt, the family matriarch, dressed in a judge's robe, Prince Aaron, Diamond, former head of the Cat Party, High Chancellor Michael Oberstadt, who participates when he has to, but won't wear regalia, and King Adam I, are joined by Dorian Grimes, right, the dictator of The Republic of Doria.
She and King Adam I are in a relationship.

At the end of the summer, Dorian plans to leave Washington to attend college in Los Angeles. King Adam I, who already has his associates degree, is debating wether he should attend college in Northern Washington or go on a Mission representing the Church of Latter Day Saints.

The Kingdom of Überstadt is led by nineteen-year-old King Adam I, (Adam Oberstadt). The Barony of Rosewood -- the micronation's capitol and the Oberstadt family home -- is nestled in the Seattle suburb of Mountlake Terrace, Wash.
Überstadt also claims territory of nearby Edmount Island on Lake Ballinger -- called The Barony of Ballinger and "considered the spiritual homeland of the nation." Both baronies reside within the Duchy of Edmount which "is situated entirely within the boundaries of the city of Mountlake Terrace, Washington," according to the Überstadt website.
Überstadt was founded by King Adam I and his high school friends March 6, 2010, and was governed by judges as a kritarchy. Before taking the crown, Adam was Überstadt's chief judge. After graduation, many of the Überstadti moved away to college and Überstadt's populace shrank. Activities would shift from the high school to Rosewood, and the governing style morphed to a unitary constitutional monarchy. According to the micronation's website Überstadt is a sovereign state "guided by the principles of direct democracy, socialist economics, and environmentalism."
Apartment buildings, shops, restaurants, hotels, corporate businesses high-rises, and the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business operate in the same neighborhood. New Census data show that population gains increasingly are concentrated in the nation's largest metro areas. Metro counties were doing better than most rural areas before the recession, but since then they have widened their lead. In metropolitan areas, the biggest gains have shifted from mid-size (250K-1M) to major ones (1M+). That’s the top 50 or so – Richmond and larger. Some of this is because of Millennials moving in; some of it is immigrants, some of it is slower losses of sixty-somethings who plan to work longer, can’t move yet for financial reasons or want to stay close to the big city.
